The Pacific Northwest Bujinkan Organization is pleased to host Nagato Sensei, the 27th head of Shindenfudo Ryu and Daishihan of the Bujinkan Organization, in Oregon for a three-day Taikai.
The Taikai will take place July 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2024 at the Monarch Hotel in Portland, Oregon USA.
Price: $400 – Price increases to $440 after March 31st. Tickets will be sold until July 20th (Subject to change based on logistics). There are only 400 tickets available. Order now to make sure you have a seat.
What to wear: Gi pants and t-shirt are okay. You may also wear a Gi-top, but please remember, it will be summer and warm.
If you bring a drink, please make sure to have it in a closed container, so it does not spill. No alcohol, please.
There will be no videoing in the Taikai. Also, please keep your cell phones on silent or off.
The Taikai will start Friday, July 26th at 10am. The doors will open at 9:30am for check-in.
Nagato Sensei will be doing Godan testing Saturday morning. If you would like to take the Godan test, you must submit a copy of your Yondan certificate with your $15 payment at the time of ticket purchase. You must also bring the money for your Godan Menkyo in yen at the time of the Taikai.
We are responsible for all Godan paperwork, its organization, and getting it to Japan with your payment.
We will submit all passing applicants to Japan and have your Godan certificate mailed to you.
Please remember to have your paperwork ready before you arrive in Oregon. If you don’t have paperwork, email us and we will get you copies.
The Taikai will be held at the Monarch Hotel in Portland, Oregon. We have a limited room block set aside that will give participants a discount on the price of the room. There are several other hotels in the area within walking distance of the Monarch. There is also a large amount of food and shopping as Clackamas Town Center is just across Sunny Side.
The Monarch is only 19 minutes from the airport (PDX), depending on traffic.

The Pacific Northwest Bujinkan Organization is a confederation of dojos under the umbrella of Rob Bascue and Mark Vandehey.
All individual dojos are owned, controlled, and operated by the various, individual dojo heads.
Training is organized and lead by Rob Bascue and Mark Vandehey based on their training with Nagato Sensei and Hatsumi Sensei.
